hope this don't mean I could be in for trouble

This was January 15th we had three to four days of upper 60's for temps. Is grabbing up pollen during cleansing flights normal. I really don't want to lose them like last year due to trying to cover brood.

If they're out foraging, that's a sign of a healthy hive! Just make sure you have the honey stores and/or feed for them, you don't want them starving at this point.
It's not a honeybee, it's a honey bee. Whateveer!

perfectly normal for a healthy hive.  My guess would be its not pollen your seeing. More likely sawdust, grain dust, or any other powdery substance that will attract bees on a warm winter day :)

I agree, quite normal, and a good sign you have a healthy hive.
By the way, where's the snow? ;D

Nice comic Perry! Hubby has gone south 35 miles to do light shoveling at his dad's place this year. Not too much so far. But we never know in this part of Cali paradise. Next week could dump two feet.

Mama! My bees are doing the same thing hon. It's the earliest that I ever seen in 6 years of beeking. If mine do swarm, I would be more afraid of them making it to a tree or stump then dying in the night when the temps drop. But learning more and more about giving the bees plenty of credit for doing what they decide to do.

So far we have only had afew dusting weather been way mild so I'm afraid it will throw a last hooray. I am already seeing trees trying to bud and really want this hive to make it. I always have a good black locust bloom.
