Been quite a while had a number of medical issues that knocked me on my substantive derriere. Since last I was on I suffered a heart attack I had an endarterectomy during which I had a stroke minor but a stroke none the less still have left side weakness and uncoordinated fine motor skills. I still have these decided to pick up a few chickens like 22 all of this just happened to go into molt so my egg production has dropped off sharply  coupled with the fact that they eat everything that walks flies floats and Glides I do believe they are very close relatives to velociraptors. Because of the endarterectomy and the resulting stroke I had to take medical disability from work and I'm no longer employable I have no stamina and this Florida heat doesn't help me a lot LOL bees  haven't suffered much. Had a goofy rooster I thought it would be a good idea if he could pick off a few of them juicy flying bugs then found out that well they might be juicy they're not defenseless and they escorted him out of the area did you ever see a rooster running top speed all bug-eyed yeah it was a YouTube moment. Thanks for stopping in I had noticed your post count had got stuck at 991 for a long time, so was wondering what happened to you. Sorry to hear of all your medical issues.

Thank you Perry hatched out a few chicks out of 10 eggs got 6 roosters, if you want few mobile alarm clock  can send you a few

Thank you Apisbee.... Been tough acclimating to the new normal. Nothing close to as strong or endurant as I was.  Like a fool keep trying to work like I used to then get frustrated when I get totally exhausted for what was  accustomed to.

Lololololol.    You know after observing chicken behavior for a while I understand how it is that we came to domesticate them sort of. Chickens are too darn stupid to survive on their own out in the wild without somebody to watch over their stupidness

Sorry to hear of your health setbacks. I hope you continue with a strong recovery.

Your chicken story reminded me of one of my own. 10 years ago when Sweet Wife and I moved to this remote piece of wilderness we soon discovered we were buried in ticks. Couldn't go outside without spraying everything. My best friend's wife raises bantam chickens as a sideline and had a bunch of surplus roosters nobody wanted, so she offered them to us. I'm talking 100 roosters. I brought them home, turned them loose, and tossed them some scratch every afternoon to keep them close.
Good outcome: all the ticks vanished. :)

Bad side effect: My friend, the source of these little fellows, is a lifelong timber worker, left for work at 4:30AM every morning.

At 4:30AM every morning all 100 of these little varmints started crowing on all sides of the house and kept it up until the sun rose. We grew used to and ceased to notice until my California cousin came out to visit. After her first night she said,"WHAT IS UP WITH THOSE D**** CHICKENS!"

Still brings a smile to my face. :D
