1st Swarm
« on: March 22, 2017, 08:21:44 am »
while walking my fence-line 2 evenings ago & flinging clover seed a I spotted an out of place mass on one of my peach trees. once of my hives had swarmed. I put a frame in a nuc transport box, shook em' in, & put them in a single deep at my outyard. this weather is crazy. swarms normally occur mid april at the earliest around here. at 1st I was concerned whether the virgin queen left in the hive would be able to breed but when I inspected hives yesterday there are quite a few drones. the phone is going to start ringing so it's time to get my swarm kit together.
