Title: moving hives
Post by: tedh on April 07, 2017, 04:58:40 pm
He Everyone,
We're hoping to move some hives early tomorrow morning.  Later in the day the temps will be in the 70'sF but as I said we were hoping to start early as we both have other things going on.  Who doesn't, right?   What is the lowest temperature that we can move hives without putting the bees in danger?  Thanks, Ted

I have moved them at 30 degrees f. It was a have to move now thing. All was well.

Thanks CBT.  We think it should be about 45°F when we need to start moving them so it sounds like we should be good.  Ted

Let us know after you finish Ted.  Curious.

I have 2 more to move and plan on moving tomorrow.  I am only moving them about 2 to 3 feet in front of where they currently are.
