Title: Varroa Detected in Newcastle Port in Australia

Such unfortunate news for Australian beekeepers.  Hopefully they can get it under control somehow before it spreads.   :sad:

Unfortunately, one they are there, I doubt it will go away.

I'm pretty sure it's happened once or twice before that they had an infiltration and were able to destroy all the infected hives.  I saw an old article from like 2014 talking about it, but there was speculation it was Varroa jacobsoni and not Varroa destructor, which would be easier to get a handle on.  Here's the link.  https://www.dadant.com/varroa-mite-found-in-queensland-australia/
