Hey Yankee! I just saw a pic of your queen. I think you have a VHS, Varroa Specific Hygiene queen there. Nice Catch buddy!

I was reading a link that River posted for me on 'Queen Introduction'.

This is the title of the highlighted post  "Queen Introduction Instructions Glenn Apiaries"

Yeah! Go to 'General Beekeeping', find 'Queen Installation', scroll down 6 posts. River gave me two links on to read. click on "Queen Introduction Instructions Glenn Apiaries". Read down a bit and there is pictures of varroa resistant queens. One of them is heavily striped like yours.

I had a tiger striped queen like that out of a cut out.. It took me forever to finally find her..  Once I realized she was striped it was easier to find her after that.. Unfortunately after the cut out she never built up. I am hoping I find more like her.

Your right about that River, after I took the pictures I lost her and never saw her again.  :)

She hasn't started laying yet but should be any day now. Been 7 days since I got the swarm. They are pulling comb and I added a couple empty
drawn frames. Will stay out for another week or so just to be safe.

Man I wish I could figure out how to take nice pictures like that, especially the close ups.

My daughter uses her phone as well and gets real nice pics up very close! Starting to think about switching out my clam shell. but I hesitate cause I just don't need another technical instrument to take me away from vacuuming

K, heres a trick..   I videoed myself vaccuuming.. then looped it, and plugged into the TV...   Wife called, said she was on her way home.. asked what I was doing...  I said vacuuming, I been vacuuming all day...
I have NO CLUE why she wasnt amused when she walked in...

I thought taking a nap and vacuuming at the same time was very efficient!!!
