I retired last year and took up beekeeping by getting a package and a nuc. I'm using 10 frame Langstroth boxes. I live at an elevation of 3500 ft. in Mt. Shasta, CA, and routinely see 6-8 ft. totals of snow during the winter. Both hives made it through the winter and I just did some splits. Gold Member Jen recommended this forum, and she hasn't steered me wrong yet :) Looking forward to getting some knowledge. ;)

Hey NorCal, ;D tickles me pinkqueen to see you here!
Norcal lives 40 minutes south of me, we met at our local bee club about a year ago and made fast bee friends. He's a very conscientious beekeeper, proud of this guy!
