Hi Zweefer, I would like a storage shed for all the bee equipment to fit into with some room to spare. For storing all the empty hive boxes, lids, bottom boards, inner covers, and spacers, quilt boxes. Plus the totes that store the honey frames, plus the totes that store empty honey frames, plus all the totes that store frames for laying, plus the totes that store plugged up pollen frames.
Geez! Even if you only have two hives, beekeeping takes up a lot of room!

$1000 can go real quick. I have some candle molds in my shopping cart at Mann Lake's website that I would like to click "BUY". I also have some honey harvesting work tables that I would like to find at the right price. It would be nice to replace some pollinator plantings that the city tore up doing street construction.

bee boxes can be cleverly disguised as tables in a pinch, and serve quite nicely as a makeshift couch/bed if you happen to be living in the back of your truck for a minute. I lived in my truck for almost a year, my equipment made great storage space, kept things organized, made comfy seating, table, bed...and if someone happened to take a look into the back of the truck when I wasn't in it with the curtains drawn it just looked like bee boxes and some wood. Granted it was a tad inconvenient when I had to figure out which boxes to sacrifice when I supered up, or made splits.
All joking aside, we started out keeping our equipment in a 10x12 storage room and ran out of space the first year. DD and I have a large outbuilding that houses most of our equipment, but the tools and saws and totes are all in the big barn. We keep dreaming of building a nice big honey house on the hill north of the little bee yard that has a big shop on the back side for woodwork and a storage area.

Hi Baker, I live in town on a circular court, on a quarter acre. For my bee hobby it's a matter of finding a shed to fit a small yard, plus all the hives. I've had up to 7 hives in the back yard but it's really way to many for city living. This year I plan to pare down to no more than 3, and sell or give away some of my older wooden ware. So that will free up some space in my existing shed.

Your wooden ware will last a lot longer if it's out of the weather.
