What will the clean up and use?
« on: December 11, 2016, 10:24:42 am »
I have a dead hive ( I think things started with the lawn spray company ) but either way it's empty and I have some wax moth activity I think from from the hive being unprotected.

I learned from Iddee that I can scrape out the little areas of comb and freeze and salvage these built out frames to use later.

In the process of doing this I am finding that there is a lot of cells full of pollen ............ can I leave the pollen in and freeze the frames and store them afterwords for the winter or will the pollen rot?

If I leave them outside will my other hives come get the pollen out of the frames and use it?

Suggestions please

Pretend it isn't there and go ahead with the freeze. The pollen may mold, but the bees will take care of it next spring.
