I think there was more than one lesson learned here.  Don't restrict kids with parameters.  8)

great Idea and very educational but with out any of the hives surviving the winter it shows the need for even more beekeeper intervention.

thanks gibb,
interesting article!

"I think there was more than one lesson learned here.  Don't restrict kids with parameters.  8)"

............. :D very true!

some years ago, a good friend of mine shared a picture with me her son had drawn in school, (awesome young man now). i don't remember what grade he was in in or how old he was or what class this was for. doesn't matter. the teacher asked the kids to draw a picture of a football field. so 30 some students all drew pictures of football fields, ya know, rectangular things with yard lines and goal posts.

my friends son, drew a very elaborate and large picture of a pair of tennis shoes standing in grass in a rectangular field, and a note on the bottom indicating the tennis shoes had cleats............

don't restrict kids with parameters........... :D
