Flynn the not-so-bee dog
« on: April 25, 2022, 01:01:01 am »
Someone discovered the spicy jalapeño sky raisins this evening… must have had one of the ladies hitchhike in from when I went to check syrup levels this afternoon.

Gave him a bit of Benadryl- hopefully he won’t itch too much.

And yes, I know he needs a haircut. On my list for later this week…

First season we had Ally she thought she'd eat a bee.  Didn't turn out to well.  Poor kids eyes swelled shut, quick run to the vet after administering benedryll,  an injection and she was a lot happier.  Ted

I've got it! C:-) The easy solution is that dogs just need to be informed that they shouldn't have raisins, and then all these problems would go away, both with eating bees and eating raisins.  Someone needs to make a set of education posters about this and put them up at dog parks and on fire hydrants and such places so the dogs can learn what's good for them.

Tom, our lab mix, never had to learn his lesson the hard way, but he's even afraid of hoverflies.  One of our Anatolian livestock guardians dogs got stung near the eye once, but they are usually pretty smart about the bees.  Our Pomeranian Sara loves to chase bees, especially carpenter bees, because she's too fluffy to get stung!  :D
