Queens Piping in Incubator
« on: May 27, 2015, 01:53:04 pm »
I was sitting in my easy chair day before yesterday and heard a sound.
I couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from.
I got up and went outside to see if the sound was out there.
Nupe it wasn't.
I heard it again and opened my incubator and low and behold there were queens in the incubator piping.
The next day there were some newspaper folks here to see if they could do a story on me raising queens and low and behold the queens started piping again.
I told them that was a rare event they were hearing that  most folks go thru life and never witness it.
I called Yankee to tell him about it and he said they were locating each other to kill the other queen.
Makes sense to me.

How was that sting as compared to a honey bee?

It hurt when she stung me and it reddened some right at the sting site.
It never did get sore or swell up.
Now a tender bee stinger hangs right in there.
To me a honey bee workers sting is worse.
