Honey Biscuits
« on: February 19, 2014, 07:23:25 pm »
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups self rising flour
Pinch of salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a small saucepan, melt butter and honey over medium heat. Remove from heat and cool. Combine cooled honey butter with brown sugar, flour, salt, and eggs. Stir well.

Make 1&1/2 to 2 inch balls of dough and then dredge in sugar. Place on a greased baking dish, sheet or iron skillet, leaving space between each biscuit. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Tops will crackle. Cooled biscuits may be stored in an airtight container for several days.

(I think they taste better when cooked in the iron skillet.)
