I thought I had been had! Stupid grass Hopper!
i need to make me another tooth pick ;). Jack
I kinda got tickled today. The company I work for hired a new VP from Pennsylvania. I ran into him and my boss today, outside in the sun. It was clouding up and trying to rain. The air was so thick you could chew it. As we stood there and chatted, he took off his coat. A few minutes later he took off his tie. He was sweating like crazy and unbuttoned the top of his shirt. Me and the boss were standing there like nothing was going on. I think if he'd stood there a few more minutes, he would have cut his pant legs off to make shorts or had a stroke or something. That poor guy was having a rough time. I'll bet he's questioning his decision to move down here.
It sure amused me, though. ;D
i learned later today, she is alright, they kept her for observation.
SHEESH!!!
total stranger, i don't even know her or her husband.....
Glad your back Squirt ;D, What were you in jail for this time. Jack

Jack, my wife says that a woman will be the death of me "Little Debbie" and that she "will have to hire pall bearers."
Just sitting here drinking coffee and eating Little Debbie banana twins and I run across this thread.

slow, what are you talking about..........."Can you tell when the cold front came through?"
cold front came in here in november, hasn't left since.......... :D :D :D
You are correct, EF. We are an hour closer to the same.My kind of day!
66 F. here today, felt like 75 on the lake. Fish not biting very good. Only 2 crappie all day, but homemade beef "venison" sticks, very spicy, and a couple cold ones made for a double fantastic day. Down to t-shirt, son with no shirt. Just relaxing and watching the lines.
No, bad fever and chills all night, but fine today. BP back to normal.
I bought my wife one of those life time rakes, i like to set under the trees and drink a beer and watch her rake the leaves, when she gets a spot cleared, i'll move my chair and tell her she can rake where my chair was now. We enjoy the fall, she ask me if i would burn the leaf piles before the wind comes up, i told her i don't have any matches and besides i didn't want to breath all that smoke. She said that's all right honey i'll burn the later. Ahhh, life is great. 8) Jack

Hopefully. it looks like the Mediterranean dry summer season is coming to its end.It is difficult to imagine a string of years with so little rain Ef. About 15 years ago we lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado. That year we had a total of 6 inches of rain at our house. Just six inches. When we drove to Nebraska to visit relatives that year, the prairie was brown all summer. The grass didn't have enough rain to turn green for the wildlife or livestock. What is your average annual rainfall Ef?
Our last rain of last winter came on April 2. Over six months of totally dry weather ended on October 9th, with the arrival of 10.8 mm of rain that opened the new winter season. The weathermen predict more showers to arrive on this coming Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully they will be correct. Last winter we didn't even get to 200 mm for the whole season---think of that---less than 8 inches of rain for the whole year, spread over a period of six months.
It's great for allowing you to leave all sorts of things out in the yard without having to worry about them getting ruined by rain, but not too helpful when it comes to producing flowers with nectar.
Hopefully this coming winter will be better. We're praying.
Now comes the question, was it really worth it? :-\\
Perhaps a better name would be the Worst Western. ;D
Blah... Lee's pictures are painful to look at! Was 19 degrees here last night... supposed to be 19 again tomorrow night... Yeah, usually the temps are pushing mid 60's this time of year and i should have already been through my hives...

Weather service;
One of the coldest arctic air mass intrusions in recent memory is surging south into the Upper Midwest before spreading across much of the eastern two-thirds of the country.
I think it is time to move south.
