Orientation
« on: April 15, 2021, 09:13:51 pm »
Still have the swarm in the back yard cause I've been too lazy I mean busy to move it. They let out a roar about 5:30 this evening and I went and watched, all orientation but seemed like over half the hive was involved. I had to run off so I went by my other hives, there were 6 down there doing the same thing. Makes me wonder what sets it off at about the same time. They can't see the sun in the hive, just a dance.

I read about an experiment where the bees were taken into complete darkness and their circadian clocks still functioned perfectly.  Makes sense as there is no light in the hives...

Not quite what I was looking for, but it does address it and I believe it references the study in section 3.

circadian clocks  I can relate that to part of a computers bias.
I wonder if congress approved their ignoring daylight savings time.

Let's hope not. If congress approves it, it's proof it is wrong.
