That tank would have a cooling system.  Wouldn't you want the opposite for holding honey?

I bet you can use a hot water tank in place of the refrigerant and make it heat.  Agitator wouldnt be needed.  But man you would need a lot of hives to pay for the space it takes up

That will hold over 7000 Lbs of honey. Like you said you need a lot of hives and masive extraction capacity to require a tank that is that large.
I am going to a auction today where there is a nice size 500 lb dairy tank

That's a nice size Apis, and looks to be in great shape too. Wouldn't fit through the 36" door of my honey house though. :P

it would so! get it close to the door turn it on its side and roll it through the door.
it has an stir paddle and the cooling compressor is attached to the tank so it is one zelf contained unit. No one else was interested in it so I got it for $10.00 Would be a nice tank for making creamed honey. I dont have a use for it, Might let my cousin use it to hydra cool his cherries

No I am not. I have to pick it up tomorrow. There was Apple bins full of assorted things that I could have gotten for under $10.00 One had a 1" neoprene pump and another apple bin had a 1" brass gear pump, both would be great for pumping honey, but would have had to take the rest of the crap with it. Also picked up a Carrier heat/cool heat-pump unit like you have in your trailer for $10.00. I also picked up a commercial high speed spinner that was used for spinning apple juice for 10 dollars also. I an not interested in the spinner but it has a rotary phase converter hooked up to it. so you can run 3 phase motors on a single phase power. I will take some pictures when I get them out in the sun tomorrow.

I marvel at some beekeeper's ingenuity.  There's nothing like a beekeeper to be able to create, rework, adapt, reinvent, etc.  I wish I was able to do so.  But, I can whip up something in the kitchen pretty fast.

the tank is 32" deep on the outside when the 3 legs are removed. Take the motor and cover off the top and the legs off the bottom and it will easily fit through a 36 inch door. I put 12 inches of water in it and turned it on. Cooled the water down to 34 deg. and held it there cycling between 34.2 and 36 deg F. It is a little bigger than I first thought. it will hold 150 US gallons. that would be a little over 1800 Lbs of honey.
