At this point I think the North only won the War because the South got half an inch of snow and they completely lost their minds

LOL!!!!
My wife is in Alabama right now.. and she is totally exasperated and frustrated.. she has to get back and forth to the plant she is auditing, and they have the highways shut down.... for an inch of snow... They tried to stop her this morning, and she explained to the officer she was from Maine, and currently living in Iowa, so long as there werent five foot drifts across the highway she would make it just fine... surprisingly they let her through... Not ONE other car on the road.. she made it obviously without any hint of a problem.. the officer at the exit ramps was awe struck that she made it...
She said she had the hardest time being politically correct in more than one situation...

In warmer climates they have a harder rubber in the car tires so they don't disintegrate on hot roads.
But in the Cold they beecome hard and don't grip at all
A towtruck friend pulled a guy out of the snowdrift that had a BIG CITY porsche.
Back on the road, paid cash and drove of 200 meters/yards later in the drift again
He then drove and pulled him out again, laugh at him and told him to take it easy.
100 meters/yards later in the drift again
Now the poor guy was a nervous wreck and had to call a cab
The porsche had expensive very wide racing Wheels on his car.

I think it was mostly those northerners who migrated south and thought they could still drive 80mph :o on the half inch of ice under that 1” of snow. ;D

One thing about the snow, Bambi and family come around more looking for a handout (so to speak).

True story
In about 2007 we landed in Atlanta in an ice storm returning from South Africa ( visiting family)
Ga was essentially shut down, hotels all full , no flights out and stuck.... Called my super duper 800 number on my executive Avis card and got them to bring us a van, and headed north.
Roads were bad but not undrivable. Soon got used to the ice in patches, and as we crossed county lines I guess you could see which counties had ploughed and salted, some had not
Still in ga , but close to SC, I noticed blue lights about a mile behind me, but he did not seem to gained on me, I was doing 55-60 , roads were icy at this time but tracks were relatively clean and just stayed in the ruts ( like a rural gravel road). Slowly over about 30 minutes he finally got closer, and eventually when getting closer, I moved over and he followed me and pulled me over.... We had not seen nor passed another vehicle in this time.
He was of the opinion I was driving dangerously..... My comeback was that I had managed just fine for the last 30 minutes and I had plenty experience in European roads..... He mumbled something and said be safe and left..... He had probably never driven in snow in his life.
Had I known he was chasing me ... I might have just sped up  :D
