Should have crossed more than fingers, Zweefer. We lost them all. The bees we populated the nucs with all absconded.
We will graft again tomorrow.

This is a stupid question, but if I were to try this could I feed the bees that are tending the queen in the nuc, and keep them screened in? I use screened bottom boards to allow air flow

I only left them locked in for 24 hours. Next round, I will leave them 3 days or move them 10 mile away.

To bad it is disheartening to see the hard work get abandoned but the loss in time of having to start back at the beginning you never get back. What size of mating nucs? Standard frame size of mini mating nucs? Did you give the nuc box sized splits a frame with brood to anchor the bees to the nuc?

Not a single take. Went and got a nicot setup tonight. Will try a non-grafting method tomorrow.

Curious as to the new method being utilized?
