Title: BVT for interstitial cystitis
Post by: JProffer on October 10, 2015, 07:20:24 pm
I am at 9 stings, wk 11 of bvt for interstitial cystitis.  So far, I have had no changes. Does anyone know of bvt to help interstitial cystitis (not a uti)? Thanks.

Hi JProffer, and welcome to the forum.
Jen may have some ideas, I'm sure when she sees your post she'll chime in.

Welcome to the form.
Are you receiving bee venom injections or are you getting stung by bees? The potency and volume of venom changes during the bees life. It reaches full potency just before the bee reached 3 week coinciding when the bees take up guard duty's in the hive.

I get stung so much in spring, summer, and fall, that i start getting withdrawals in the winter time. I'm thinking about writing a book on all the curse words, old ones and new ones that beekeepers have come up with over the years from getting stung. I don't know if getting stung makes me healthier or not, but it makes me alot smarter working bees.  Jack

JP, for BVT treatment against  interstitial cystitis you have to get stung in the right place  (or is it the wrong place).
Something tells me that you won't get cured by BVT.
I hope you don't suffer from my sense of humor.

Hi JP, welcome to the forum.  I practice BVT on myself but mostly for arthritis in my back, knee and carpal tunnel relief.  Like Ef, I have my doubts about it working on your condition but they are using BVT for Lyme Disease and MS, so anything is possible.   It certainly will not hurt your system to keep trying.  Just a suggestion (if you don't have one already), I would suggest you obtain a prescription from your doctor for an EPI pen....you just never know when you can convert.

Welcome. If you are using BVT now, you are likely familiar with the American Apitherapy Society. If not, here is a link to their site. They have a lot of good info and a member's list of users, and forum.

hi jproffer, and WELCOME to the forum.

we have a member here, jen, as perry said, who practices bee venom therapy, and also has a network of individuals who practice alternative therapies for 'maladies' that modern medicine has no answer/treatment for.  i sent her a personal message this evening directing her to your post. perhaps, she may have some thoughts on your question.

sorry to read of your suffering, hang in there.  as les mentioned, if you are receiving direct stings it is wise to have an epi pen on hand.  ;)

Hi everyone! Wow, what great support for bee venom therapy. Thank You!

I have pmd JProffer and we'll talk. I have several suggestions for bvt for internal issues. One of them.. Propolis! A little pea size nugget of propolis dropped into hot tea will take the medicine directly to the gut  ;) That and beestings on specific acupuncture points... It's good medicine  :)
