this is an excellent manual on honey bee diseases and pests by dr. marla spivak and gary reuter of the university of minnesota.  this is a great reference and some good reading for new beeks as well as older beeks.  i have had the privilege of meeting dr. spivak and gary reuter. 
their research and continuing education to the beekeeping community is incredible, and this updated and now free pdf publication is very nice to have for reference. lot's of good info!
