Title: Seven Sons Flower Tree
Post by: Bakersdozen on January 24, 2021, 11:12:06 am
Does anyone have any experience with a Seven Sons Flower Tree?  I am told that it is a great Summer nectar source.  I am considering adding this to the landscape.

Hi Baker  :)  Wow! Just looked up this tree. Haven't ever heard of it and it is in our zone. We took down an old birch in our front yard last year. This Seven Sons Flower or Temple of Bloom would get full sun in our neck of the woods. I wonder how long it would withstand a whisky barrel? Still researching it.

Cool!  A fellow beekeeper told me about it and now I want one.  In this area, it will provide a nectar source after most other sources dry up.
I think it can't withstand drought conditions, so watering may be essential.  If you had a Birch, you probably had to water it while it was young.
