There's a first time for everything, and I had an interesting experience today. Was out working the bee yard and had a bee go zipping right into my ear. I'm not talking about running into the side of my head like the clumsy girls do from time to time. I'm talking about she went zipping right INTO my ear
. Talk about a sick feeling. I turn to my son, who was with me, and asked what I already knew -- "Did that bee go into my ear?" He takes a look and, sure enough, she's down in there. He can't get to her, though. I cringe, just waiting for the inevitable. I tell him to look in my toolbox for a Benadryl. I figure I may need one this time. After about 45 seconds, still no sting. I happen to think about the forcep tweezers that I keep in my toolbox. I have my son grab them. He manages to get her out. How I escaped without a sting, I have no idea. But I don't care to repeat that episode.
