First for me
« on: August 18, 2014, 08:39:16 pm »
I've been seeing some flowering weed on the road side and didn't recognize them. I found some on my place yesterday, in a spot I haven't mowed in a few years. I took a picture and googled it, turns out its Horsemint. I have never, before now seen any of this.
From what I read, it's a good nectar and pollen producer. We may have a real good fall flow this year, the Goldenrod, Partridge Peas and now Horsemint are all blooming. The Spanish Needles will show up soon.

Awesome Randy! Next year it will be interesting for beeks here in upper Cali. Been soooo many fires and that makes for plants that will come up in double and some plants that have been laying dormant for years. I'll be interested to see what happens pollination wise ~
