Freeze harvest
« on: November 14, 2014, 12:52:10 am »
I have a policy: pick it before it freezes. Counter is full. Sweet potatoes are still in the ground, but they are planted on the south side of a privacy fence and I watered just before the freeze.

I see red tomatoes for the next month a few at a time. I have to learn to cook eggplant before I learn to fry green tomatoes.

Jen

stick around we will show you how to ripen those green tomatoes. My wife got the table covered with them. Most of them will ripen in two weeks. Fried green tomatoes. I would need a roll of toilet paper after eating them. ;D

Gypsi, maybe it's time for you  to learn how to pickle green tomatoes.

Nope, I am stewing red tomatoes.  I have heard I'd need some kind of anti-diarrhea for cooked green tomatoes aftermath

I love fried green tomatoes, and they do not upset my stomach.  Then again, if I knew how to pickle green tomatoes that stash of them would tempt me.  Pickled green tomatoes are wonderful.

Egg plant is something I can take or leave.  The melon looks inviting.
