picked up one for 40$ two years ago. Can't be beat for cutting long boards down to size repeatably.

You could offer me ten of those for half the price---it still wouldn't make we want to live in New York.

There's nothing better than living out in the country!!!
Visit the city, vacation in the city, Okay---but live there, not me.

If you were to try it out for a while I think  you would agree with me.

Fort Plain NY is upstate NY.  Closer to Canada than NY City.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fort+Plain,+NY/@42.9260642,-74.5979574,4787m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x89debd0f98fb8ff9:0x4c21f85801e0da8f

Looks like lots of farm land up there.

I do agree with you though, no amount of money would make me want to live in NY City. Nothing wrong with the city, just not for me.

I should have been more careful with my answer---It was NYC I was "rejecting".  New York state has a lot of beautiful countryside.
If I hadn't made it my choice to live in Israel, I might be attracted to some lovely spot in NY State---provided it doesn't get too cold in the winter or have too much snow....

zweef, we have a sears RAS.........immaculate condition, it was free.
one of mr rb's clients asked him if he knew of anyone that could use a RAS, it had been sitting in his garage for umpteen years, and had only been used to put trim up in his house......
uh, mansion....... :D
we went and looked at it.....loaded it up and away we went with it. he was happy to get rid of it.
it was also under the sears recall, so managed to get a brand new table and safety assembly for the blade, not sure what this is called, but there was one part we did ditch on the new kit, it was a PITA to remove the blade with it on there.........i think papakeith did the same thing with this part?........ :D

I think everyone should go to NYC at least once in their lives.  It is truly an experience.  It really made me appreciate where I live.

I would agree Slow, so far in our family of 4 only our son has made it to NY. He liked it but wasn't there long enough to see the state of NY.

Live and worked in NY city for around 8 months when I was an electrician, in the union and travel doing the work, having said that it all comes down to one attitude of where they are at I think. I would not want to live there long though for I like a little privacy in my life and don't want to hear other peoples problems either, so my 2 acres are on the verge of it.

Radial arm saws are an old and dangerous technology.  They have been almost entirely replaced by compound mitre saws.
My advice: worth price charged :)

the craftsman with the anti kickback and guard system is plenty safe if used properly.
Besides, I've yet to see a compound miter saw for sale for $40 in usable condition :D
