Thanks Apis, In beekeeping, it seems like we are always rediscovering something about the bees.  I've been reading my 1976 edition of the _Hive and the Honey Bee_.  It is all in there...  ;)

The Hive and the Honey Bee, and the ABC XYZ books are my old but trusted "bibles" when it comes to bees. Nothing about Varroa in mine, but the rest of it holds true to today.

I do agree. I like that they cover all the topics of beekeeping and give a full lesson on bees and beekeeping. But they are limited in the amount of information they have on any topic. Where they devote a paragraph of a chapter to a topic. Their has bee entire books written on the subject. or a particular management technique. or product of the hive.
Although I highly recommend that every beekeeper should read those books, they should also know that there is a lot more information in specialized books.
It's time to apply for your library card most libraries carry a selection of books on beekeeping..
