Thymol ~ can it be used with honey supers on?

My bee club is wondering if Thymol can be used with honey supers on. Some have googled it and get mixed answers.

any products containing thymol state on the label not to use it while supers are on the hives.

no, do not use thymol when honey supers are on.............
and it is in the included instructions.
