Temperature effects venom production in honey bees

Scientists in Australia believe they have found a direct correlation between higher temperatures and lower quality and production of honey bee venom.  Perhaps that is one of the reasons why the first stings of the year hurt the worst?

Interesting, but I am usually more interested in reducing the quantity of stings, not the quality.

It might be beneficial if you practice apitherapy.  Many rely on bee stings for relief from arthritis and Lyme disease.  Honestly all I kept thinking is how some claim the first stings of the year hurt the worst.
