Colony consumption of stored honey
« on: December 05, 2021, 07:14:51 pm »
Can any one tell me how long (or quickly) a full size colony can eat a frame of stored honey? I am thinking of the size of colony right after the main nectar flow.  I know about how many pounds needed going into winter.  I am concerned with consumption of food stores when a colony is at it's largest.

In a dearth, I’ve had mine blow through 6 full frames in a week, so I’d say one a day?  No empirical data to back that up though…
