And another barred rock hen didn't come in tonight, so thinking she might be sitting on a nest now too since we haven't had any guinea eggs since the hen started sitting 2 weeks ago. Will have to see if we can find the nest and move her inside so she is protected.

:-[ your barred is just as cute as those keets! And the dog too!! What a good girl

Nice Robo. Looks like your going to have quite a flock by the time all those little ones grow up.
We didnt hatch any eggs this year.. getting 6 to 10 eggs a day and thats too many for us. They are nice to give away to friends and neighbors. Keeps the good will closer to the surface when their leaky hummingbird feeder gets several thousand bees hanging from it ;D
-
Most of these are going. We currently have 10 guineas and will probably keep a couple whites ones, and maybe a couple pied. They rest will get new homes. We have had upwards of 20 guineas before and the noise (and frequency) increases exponentially. So far the neighbors have been great, but don't want to push our luck. This last generation seems to "wander" much further than we have had in the past.
-
hehe, keeping on good terms with the neighbors is always wise.
Had a nasty neighbor once that had sheep and guinea hens.. never bothered me when they (Hens) wandered our way.. then the incidents between this neighbor and others started escalating.... I stayed well out of it... but I would mention that those birds TASTE really good!

Good hens you got there Rob, Great pictures. Too bad your not closer I could use some of them. The ticks are bad this year. Tom

Hmm, interesting...no pictures showing. BUT...while I'm typing this I can see the URL's in the editor window. ??? If I remove the image tags the inks are visible but if I add them (the tags) back the links disappear???

Son in law had to shoot there Dominicker (or Bar) rooster last week, it got so it would attack my daughter or grandson when they went toward the hen house or garden? I never seen a mean Dom. rooster, but had and seen many White leghorn roosters that would flog you. Jack
