I have recently joined the Guilford County Beekeepers Association and the NC Beekeepers Association. I also attended a Surry County meeting since I have a farm there and may add bees there later. My son and I have been attending the GCBA beekeeping class. I have purchased a hive and a package that is scheduled to arrive on April 11th. I am wondering about getting a second for comparison but I hesitate to spend more money. I still need to get the bee suit and other tools of the trade.

Welcome to a friendly worldwide source of beekeeping information.  I would second what Iddee said about joining the Guilford forum.  The more Piedmont NC input we have, the more we will learn about what happens when in our area.  What to do about bee issues is a worldwide puzzle.  When to do things is very much a local issue.

Welcome to the group.  I'm relatively close in Wilson.  I'm just starting up myself. Best of luck.
