Are these Dadant End Frames?
« on: July 20, 2018, 07:26:02 pm »
I pulled these from my Dadant box, went to assemble and split the end frame.  I thought the top bars were defective.  I emailed Dadant, they sent me new top bars.  These don't fit either.  I then grabbed the other bundle of 50 end bars and they are different.  So where did these end frames come from? I have only purchased frames from Dadant.

I don't ever recall ordering frames from Brushy.  Also, all the top and bottom bars are same as Dadants, and I don't have any +/- top or bottom pieces.

I would guess the mill that makes for one group would make for many groups. Someone may have sent it out that way.

Have you considered shrinkage? Some pieces of wood shrinks more than other depending on the moisture in the logs and how the grain in the wood is orientated. Shrinkage in wood: wood shrinks least alone its length followed by across the growth rings (from the heartwood to the bark) with the most shrinkage along the the growth rings.
Every time a saw blade/cutter head is sharpened the cut gets smaller and over time this can effect the fit between old and new stock.

The side frames are Cleary mfg differently, so there would be no concern of any shrinkage.
