Attended my first beekeeper's association meeting today
« on: April 19, 2022, 11:45:34 pm »
I am in the process of pulling myself out of a greif induced funk. Today I attended the local beekeeper's association meeting. It is plumb in the next county but I know a few of the members. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and there was a good presentation on splitting to control swarming.
The couple next to us is expecting their first bees in a couple weeks and have a million questions. I suggested they come here and ask anything. I told them you would be nice so...... :)

This wasn't an easy move for me. I'm not an anti social person but I tend to be unsocial. Turned out great. :)

That's great, Neil!  I think all the seasoned beekeepers, in our group, come to meetings for social reasons.  No one thinks a thing if you arrive a little late or leave early, but some of the best conversations happen before and after.  New beekeepers are yearning for a one on one with a seasoned beekeeper to bounce some questions off of.  Your knowledge becomes that much more priceless if you can share it!
I hope you don't wait to check in again.  It's nice to hear from you!

Nice to see you Neil!
I am glad you made the trip. Who knows those new beekeepers may turn out to be a perfect way to reenergize.
