   With the wood stove pumping heat into the wood shop, I feel a lot less guilty about working in there..



 
   I have a multitude of frames boxes and complete hives to build.. Usually, I have TedH down this way giving me a helping hand, but today, I recruited different help;
   


   I took the picture back by the door because she was WAY too close to the nail gun...

    Heres fourteen of the 30 ish nucs I need to get done, these have the frames in them and are ready for bees!


 
   And eight new boxes being fitted out with new frames;



   Enough for two hives there.. eight more needed to have ready to sell, and about 40 ish boxes for my own hives still to build..  The only advantage of winter is that it gives me the time to DO all this stuff!


   Yeah Ted, I think shes jealous! She OFFERED to come help, but insured me it did not give me any rights to boss her around...

Your shop is real clean.  Good on you for keeping your work place clean.  Clean is also safe. 

I love my wife so much.  We've been married 55 years, but when, once in a while, I need her help it is difficult to work with her.  She does not like to be the orderly.  I think it is good that I have spent roughly half of my married life away from home.

In the second picture, it looks like your wife has her humor gauge on low. 

Again, it is a clean and efficient looking work area.  I'm impressed, but I am also simple and easy to impress.  :):)

Boxes and boxes and more boxes. Just getting started.





Reversible inner covers



Adding a little color to bee yards this year, tired of white.



Adding walls insulation and floor to honey house.



And building a coat hanging shelf for mom for Christmas.  ;)

     LOL  :laugh:  Speaking of nail guns... and this is a true story... Hubby and I were in the garage having a friendly argument, seriously it was friendly... I turned and started to walk into the house, he had the staple gun in his hand and raised it and shot a staple toward me, I was about 6 feet away. And By Golly, the staple went thru my tank top and into my skin, about middle of my back... a little bit. It didn't really hurt that much, I mean bee stings hurt more than the staple did. But I sure had a lot of fun with that! I turned around real slow with a look of pretend horror and hurt on my face. His eyes were huge and he was agast that the staple actually 'stapled me'. He kept looking at me, then the staple gun, then back at me... it was soo funny.

That was probably worth a ton in the guilt category Jen. ;D

Hey Yankee, what kind of a floor you going to put down? I keep thinking a honey house needs a floor that can be hosed down.

Yea me to. I have been looking for a sheet of vinyl but no luck yet.

Last night I was looking at that epoxy that they paint on to concrete floor in garages and warehouses. Going by Sherwin Williams this week and see
if they think that stuff will stick to wood. Probably gonna put a drain in the center of floor also.

You see the natural light across the top of the walls? I gonna stop the walls there and leave that natural light. So I can line up Honey Jars full of Honey and let the light shine through them. Just to look at. :-)

Then that back divider wall to the left of that door I am thinking about putting a observation hive in that wall.

Wow! I thought I had plenty to do..  I dont feel so bad now!
   I think replacing the floor with concrete would be the way to go, but a good epoxy coating would go a long ways toward the same goal.
   Still discussing a building for honey, wine and woodwork.. shes talking about selling the candle stuff, I'm trying to talk her out of it..

This is most of what we've done so far.  I see the girls are already getting them painted!




I still need to make a "punch list" of the miscellaneous items we"ll need to complete the hives and nucs.  Then I'll take advantage of Lazy's generous nature...some more!   Ted

   500 lbs of sugar I haven't paid a dime for at this point kind of Generous Mr. Ted?   Yeah, were gonna make sure you have all the goodies you need when Spring arrives.  Besides, that toasty warm shop sure is inviting when its nasty out, will probably call you tomorrow if its raining.
   Back to the regularly scheduled thread!

Got one wall insulated a wall board up today. Have trim left and shelf across top. Then other wall.

Josh and I put a frame rack together this morning.  Only took three and a half hours and two trips to the local lumber yard!  Yeah, we're not that handy.  What we lack in smarts we make up for in determination.




Oh dear.  The pics upside down and I can't seem to fix it.  How does that even happen?  Sometimes I feel like Eeyore, from Winnie the Pooh.  Ted

Thanks for fixing the pic River!  Josh and I built and hung a second frame rack this morning.  I think we'll have enough room to hang 160 frames.  It's over kill for this year but who knows what the future will hold? It only took 45 minutes this time and part of that time was spent drinking coffee and talking bees!  Who said old dogs can't learn new tricks?  Ted

If you can walk around in your shop and can find and know where all your tools are, then you have a den, Not a work shop. :D JMHO Jack

    YEP!   And looking at that picture things are looking pretty NEAT and tidy!    Bout time there was some sawdust and wood scraps laying about to bring the  MAN space up to acceptable standards!  Grease and engine parts is also acceptable. If you mix the two you get bonus points on your man card!
   Nice looking frame rack...   OOH, Nice looking Nucs and hives too!    ;D
