Firearms Deer season opened up here last wednesday. Seeing some nice bucks being knocked down in the 10 to 14 tine range. First year I haven't firearms hunted in several years and the weather is perfect for it.

I just brought home my dad’s 25-06 and went to work up a deer load for it. Reloading components were nonexistent so I went looking for loaded ammo with the same result. Our archery season opens last weekend of August and rifle first weekend in October (you got to pick). Never even seen a 10x that was not on a calendar or the wall of Cabala’s!

thats one thing good about Kansas we are noted for trophy bucks. They say its the right diet they have and climate. We got guys here that allow hunting but wont let you take anything less than an 8 point

They have all but disapeared around here. Lot of guys scratching their heads wondering where they've gone. Nothing on 3 camera's for the last month and a half :( Still have a lil time yet, so Hopefully they come out to play one last time.

You can't eat antlers, so I don't see much difference in a buck or a doe. ;D

LOL slow! makes no difference to me. i enjoy vennison.

Didn't do so well this season. Too cold, the deer weren't moving much. I did see one doe. However, even though I do like venison, I prefer to shoot the bucks. Shoot a buck and you kill one deer, shoot a doe, you potentially kill several generations of deer. Right now the deer population in my neck of the woods could be better (too many wolves and coyotes right now), so I let the does be.
I hope some of you had good success...
