Fill jar with fresh sliced lemons and a few slices of fresh ginger
Pour honey over the mix. REAL honey will take a bit of time to drain down over the fruit.
Screw on lid and refrigerate for about a month or so. Shaking occasionally. It will keep for over a year in the fridge. Great in tea, Use it for fighting a cold or flu, cough or upset stomach. Mix a spoonful with club soda for the best tasting Ginger Ale you have ever had. After a few months, you can remove the lemon, dry it and eat it like candied citrus.

Thanks for posting, very interesting. Any suggestion on how much to consume in terms of tablespoons for certain ailments?

Usually just a spoonful in a cup of tea is enough. It's the first thing I use when I feel like I might be coming down with something and it works like a charm.

Thanks for posting.
I hope that someone bumps this up to the top of page next fall. I probably won't remember, but I think this would be great to make starting into cold and flu season.

Hey JanO, this recipe sounds delish, a refreshing summer drink as well.
When I feel the hint of a cold or flu, I drink calming tea with honey, ginger, and a few drops of propolis in it.

This mixture does work great for us. i have a jar in the fridge all winter.
I add a cinnamon stick to ours. One or two tablespoons added to a cup of hot water.
Puts me to sleep after drinking.
My wife has her own concoction, fresh lemons and crown royal! :o
