things might be crazy here on monday
« on: August 17, 2017, 09:16:01 am »
Arnold Mo is a hot spot for watching this upcoming eclipse. people are charging big bucks just to camp in their pastures. traffic is supposed to be nuts. it sounds like a good day to stay home. then again, it could turn out to be like the Y2K scare-nothing at all. i'll know on Monday.

Get some stakes out, thump them in the ground, and rent out some camp spots. Think of the bee stuff you could buy with the extra dough! :)

Good idea Perry, might as well capitalize on this situation.

Same here on the Cali-Ore border. All alerts out for caution on Interstate 5 over the weekend. Taking my granddaughter home on Fri instead of Sat/Sun. Her mom and dad are worried about her and I being on the road. Crazy...

I see smoke in my future. There are so many fires going in BC it doesn't matter which way the wind blows, it's blowing in smoke from some where. Haven't seen any more than 5 hr's of sun since the first week of July.

For those eclipse watchers, don't forget your protective glasses.......it's hard enough to see honeybee eggs, you don't need to damage your eyes  :o

Warning!

Some of the 'Eclipse Viewing Glasses' have been recalled.  Best to be sure your viewing glasses will actually protect your vision.  :)

Just looking at it through my welding helmet. Here there saw still enough light to trip the auto darkening on the wilding helmet. Id didnt get very dark with even a slim bit of light coming past the moon. At least not dark enough to keep the bees from flying.

We had around 75-80% here. Was really neat. One of my dogs got very perturbed but the all other animals were cool with it.
