Jack:

I have read that bears are very sensitive to pain on their noses.  Riverbee would give that old grizzly bear a nose twisting that wouldn't soon be forgotten.

Do you know what they call motorcycle riders in Yellow Stone Park?   bada bing,,,,,    "meals on wheels."  :):)

jack, i will have you know, i have one 45 thousand dollar titanium good hip and one really bad gimp hip that makes me quite ornery sometimes................ :D

"Riverbee would give that old grizzly bear a nose twisting that wouldn't soon be forgotten."
............. :D :D :D

lazy, that's not a grizzly, that's a black bear, and yes they are sensitive on their noses, underbelly's and also their tongues when they bite a charged fence line.............. :D

when i was a kid growing up in billings, mt. , my mom and dad would pile all us kids up in the station wagon during summer months and drive down to yellowstone, go fishing or sightseeing, camping.  back then, when you drove through the park, the bears would line up and wait and we fed them out the windows.  my mom still has polaroids of my dad hand feeding bears out the window of the vehicle.  amazing.

i worked in yellowstone every summer since age 14 (old faithful inn) until i graduated from high school and maybe one more year after graduation; age requirement was 15, but my folks signed off, and there was no checking. they worked us 6 days a week, with one day off, but you could go anywhere in the park for free on the buses. i took advantage of that and traveled all over the park on my day off.  i also volunteered for trail work and fireline work ( (when fires broke out), carrying a shovel and a pulaski and a heavy pack.  the trail work was cool and so was the fire line work; and i enjoyed it more than i did working at the old faithful inn.

Well that makes a lot of sense... So Riverbee, do you understand now why you're having hip replacements  ;) :D

Me too, taking a little longer to get up out of the lounge chair and get the legs to moving. Fell out of a lot of trees when I was a kid  ;D

very true jen, i guess. sorta get crabby about it from time to time about right now, but i guess looking back in my travels over the years wouldn't trade the experience; where i have been, worked, traveled, hiked, fished, camped, danced, etc for anything, sometimes places no other foot has been. the pain and inconvenience of the hip replacement and one coming up just slows me down and some days, unbearable but in another year or so i will be good as new i think with some adjustments and back to enjoying life !  still crabby about it though!................ :D :D :D

No overall's around my ankles? still don't know how i got them over my lace up boots? One hand was trying to cover things the other trying to kill bees that were trying to kill me. :o That was bad enough, but 20+ kin folk (men, women, girls, and boys) watching, laughing, rolling on the ground was the worst part, plus all the talk that came afterwords, and i still get reminded once in a while. :-[ Jack

I feel your pain Jack.
My wife has those certain "triggers" that set her to giggling uncontrollably...  One of those times was when I wore the shorts to "just" do a quick inspection...  the other time had to do with testing a brand new electronic dog training collar...   I have never been able to put on shorts without her giggling maniacally, so I stopped wearing shorts...  And, when I had to get the collar out for a particularly stubbern dog I was training...  So I got out of raising English Springer Spaniels......   Dang woman still manages to think of those two times at least once a month...
