Bee reserchers of years gone by
« on: December 07, 2013, 01:24:00 pm »
I have always liked reading the older books on bees. Dr Karl von Frisch has always been a favorite. I have had the Opportunity to talk with and listen to presentations of one of his last doctoral students Dr.  Rudolf Jander. Dr Jander  carried on Dr Von Frisch's studies at the University of Kansas Where he is finishing up his last years of teaching. While Jander has went largely unpublished in his career he has some young students that are carrying on the tradition and are starting to publish works on bees cognitive behavior. One of his students Dr. Danny Najera has picked up the studies and has developed this presentation on the waggle dance. Make sure you check out all the cells, http://www.instruction.greenriver.edu/d ... aggle.shtm

That is a good video presentation of the waggle dance.
Bees are bees and do as they please!
