how to get help at Best Buy
« on: January 27, 2017, 01:22:03 pm »
Ole rat had to buy another laptop computer to program in the shop with after spilling flavored water on the keyboard.  So off to best buy I go.  After standing around for about 15 min looking at laptops and watching the sales help stand around talking with each other I had figured out which one I wanted to buy.  So I could walk over and interrupt their meeting but then got thinking.  Nope that's not an option.  I ever so cleverly unplugged the USB port theft alarm to the computer.  All kinds of bells and alarms went off.  I had more help than I could imagine.  Once they got the alarms shut down and the whole store off alert.  I just smiled and said I would like to buy a computer just like that.  Not so sure they saw the same humor I did but I did get there attention ;D

I'm glad that worked for you.

I've seen them not get so excited about the alarm before.  Sometimes those conferences are just to interesting to leave just because of a pesky alarm.

The tip is get out of that business you'll never make you fortune there. That's for the sales folks.

LOL!!!!!!!

My wife wanted an XBox for her camp and a big screen TV so we went to best buy. I had a similar problem. There were about three sales people helping folks on the floor, and about a dozen behind the counter... My wife got annoyed after standing around and waiting for a bit...  She turned to go complain, and I "accidentally" bumped the stack of metal chairs. She screamed when they crashed and jumped out of her skin.. i said OOPS and grinned at her...
Yeah, we got attention after that.

Of course... i got chewed out when we got in the truck... but my grin made her laugh in mid chew so its all good.

And Best Buy wonders why they are in financial trouble?  The consumer would be better off ordering online.
