Was not completed correctly.  Bees swarmed this week . 100 yr. old oak tree. Why would ferel bees swarm this late in the yr. ? Was a trap out two years ago.  Farmer told me bees moved back in tree . an swarmed this week. Question is why bees would swarm this late?

Hi Mikey, hey did you actually see a swarm come from that tree?

No the farmers wife did.

Bakersdozen:
Mikey, I caught a small swarm in mid-august last year.  They over wintered in a nuc box and were fine in the spring.
Some times they abscond because of a heavy mite load.  Absconding would slow down the build up of mites, but not control it, I believe.
