Ben you had a lot of great ideas.
« on: March 10, 2019, 08:18:16 am »
Day lite saveings time was not one of your better ideas. the rual folks in your day had it right all along, get up at day lite when the rooster crows and go to bed at dark after a full day. No need to be changeing clocks. No need to remember spring forward and fall back to know where the stupid clock should be set.

Only reason retired folks need a clock is to keep appointments, internal clocks work just fine once you get it set properly.
So today it the first day the TV Menu clock Matches the time of the program comeing up next. they have it set for ESDST and it never changes in the fall so all winter the programs are a hour later than the menu with summer times posted.

Also to day be ready to possiabley morn the death of loved ones. Heart attck risk are higher for the next 3 days, Being ran over by a sleepy driver is grater for the next 3 days also.

I say get rid of it and not force people to deal with the mess. Stores could open sooner if they wished. Companies could also open earlier if they wish. No need to make people submit to resetting clocks, micro waves, water softners and all the other things on a timer.

It has also been proven it doesn't save enegery.

Blame any mistakes found on ESDST first day.

Did the bees set their clocks up an hour last night? If they did, I bet they’ll be grumpy today. Probably not a good day to open the hives.

Back in or about the sixties, they tried year round daylight savings time. There were kids getting killed daily going to the bus stop in the dark. I see now where they want to do it again. Maybe another form of population control?

Personaly I like my winter weather. A time for me to unwind and not be busy BITCHING about the ****** heat.

Once it gets above 75F I am ready to have that be summer.

There is a bill here to get rid of DST for good. Some thing over 500,000 people signed the potition to get rid of it.

Most of Arizona seems to do fine without any DST.  Standard time all the time.

WM, all that green looks so good!
This is a picture I took of sunset last night.  The camera didn't do it justice.  But look how nothing has leafed out yet.  Surely the silver maple blooms will pop today.  Elms too.

Since this discussion is about DST, this picture was taken after 7 p.m.

I love a good sunset.

Did I see another winter storm heading your way? And tornadoes in the South?

Hopefully this wild weather will settle down soon.

I haven't checked the weather recently, but I believe we have rain/flooding predicted for mid-week.  The ground is saturated already.  We usually have 5-6 inches of snow annually.  I lost track at 26 inches, and we had another snow storm after that.

Just staying on topic.  ;)
