witnessed some neat stuff
« on: May 04, 2015, 10:56:03 pm »
As usual, raising queens had been really fun and educational.  I heard and saw queens piping for the first time.  Today I was looking in on my Nucs and noticed a queen walking around on the ground beside the Nuc.  I had her walk onto my finger and put her on the landing board.  She wandered into the hive and was welcomed by the bees.  She must have just returned from mating flights, because she looked almost too exhausted to walk.
My advice: worth price charged :)

Not often you get to see the next morning's walk of shame....
