This is an interesting article.  It has been written about in Bee Culture Magazine (see the link in the original article to read Bee Culture's article) and Randy Oliver is going to run experiments on it.  So far it sounds hopeful.
She claims her device will knock the mite population down by 70%.

I like this idea! Simple, can use it any time of year regardless of heat, also has a bit of robbing protection.
