good evening ~

some good weather forecasted for us in the deep freeze in the midwest, temps to get into the 40's in the next few days. the weight is still pretty good. bees alive. i have a shim on top, might just throw in a patty.

today was a busy cleaning day for me.........this afternoon, i took the recyclables out, well, i set the bag at the top of the stairway to take out to our recycle bin in the garage on my way to the gym. i grabbed my id, checked my bag for my tennies, came back up the stairs for my bottle of water, and went to grab the bag at the top of the stairs to carry out, and it flopped over..............there was a glass olive oil bottle on top, that tumbled out and down the carpeted stairs to the tile floor and rug below. of course the bottle hit the tile floor first, bounced across the small rug to the tile floor behind it and shattered in a zillion pieces. glass and olive oil residue everywhere.   i used some very non disney language.

plan a: took the rug out. picked up what larger glass pieces i could, and swept the mess. okay so now the broom is full of olive oil and glass shards.
some of the glass shards flew about 10 feet or more in all directions on the tile floor and some on carpeted flooring.

plan b: wipe up the olive oil mess/residue with a bucket of pine sol, then vacuum the carpet and tile floor, and wipe it down again. then take the vac to anything i missed.

tile floor: kink in plan a and b. the prince river had left a box on the floor nearby filled with items from a business trip this past weekend, mostly cans of BEER . i wanted to move it out of the way to clean the entire floor.  so i did. i carried this box across the tile floor, that i had just cleaned from olive oil residue, and glass, up carpeted stairs and across the tile floor in the kitchen to realize one of the beer cans had a leak in it. i looked and there was a nice trail of dripping beer from where i stood in the kitchen on the second level, across the tile, down carpeted stairs, and across the tile i had just cleaned from the olive oil mess and glass shards to the front door.

i was really happy about this........more non disney language........... :D
it took me about 3 or so hours to get the whole mess cleaned up, and the carpeting, and boy did someone get an arse chewing over the dented beer can......... :D :D :D

murphy's law.  never made it to the gym today. life is good!........... :D

That almost makes the bat problems sound trivial  ;D   But what a mess.

I managed to break off a couple CFL light bulbs with my noggin today.  The feel of hot glass down my neck, a spark of electricity, and maybe a little mercury vapor persuaded me not to bother with any lottery tickets tonight.

Murphy's Law, its for sissies.  In the oil patch we use Scholtz's Law.   It states that Murphy was an optimist.

Today was a great day!! I was able to finish pruning my fruit trees and grapes. I have all piled up and ready to shred tomorrow .Had to change out the pressure control switch on the well. The best part was i did not even have to think about breathing it was kind of like old times. I really appreciate these good days. Well everyone enjoy your evening  .

Today was a good day.  I saved a bat  ;D

We inched above the freezing mark for a few hours today so that was a bonus too.  Haven't checked on the bees in a while.  We're suppose to get up to 38F tomorrow, but cloudy so I kind of doubt the bees will be out for a cleansing flight; but who knows....it's not going to get any better than this for a while  :'(

Local super market was selling Diet Pepsi 11 for $10, so I loaded up a cart with 55 bottles.  Gotta stay on my toes when conversing with fellow bee keepers you know   :)

Well Riv my good friend... I saved a bat too about 4 years ago. And would save another one. But I do understand and sympathize with your plight  ;)

LOL   Pretty much whats happening here as well, though i did get frames built, and 200 sheets of stinky plastic arrived this afternoon.. Will put it in those frames tomorrow, and see if i can get the folks to come pick up their hives.. afraid that plastic will make the whole wood shop smell bad....
