Yeah, Ken, I swiped it off AOL. Then wife made chef salads for dinner, so I tried it.

hmmm, i will have to try this.

the key i always thought...........after hard boiling was run them under cold water, and if need be for use right away, put some ice cubes in, other wise refrigerate......the shells come off quite easily, this seems quicker!

I don't eat hard boiled eggs, so this trick will be of now use to me, unfortunately.  I was really hoping it would show how to peel a raw egg.  I did that once out of shear boredom. Took forever and was rather tricky to peel the shell off, while leaving the "skin stuff" in tact. Does anyone know the trick to doing that?  It leaves a rather neat, curious blob.  Makes for a good conversation piece.

The days are getting longer and it won't be long until can stand an egg on it's end on the vernal equinox.

Doesnt work with newly laid eggs..   I've tried the vinegar, salt, Ice, and several other tricks.. I have found the best thing to do is leave the eggs out on the counter over night, then refrigerate a day or three and they will peel fine after hard boiling..
I have always liked Scrambled hard boiled eggs..   Put the egg in the middle of a long sleeve shiort sleeve, and spin it to twist it up well, then pull the ends of the shirt sleeve taut. it spins the egg really fast and scrambles it in the shell, then boil as normal.  Excellent!
