Yet Another from Texas
« on: December 24, 2013, 09:45:22 pm »

I keep bees in the western most portion of Central Texas.  They occupy an 800 acre ranch in Brown County that is mostly filled with scrub brush and mesquite trees.  I also have two hives in De Leon, Texas.  Both of these places are only 50 miles apart.

I'm 74 years old, and have only been with bees since April, 2011.  I had zero experience with them before this date.  They are fascinating creatures and have provided me much pleasure (and some frustration).

If you are passing through my area, give me a call.  We have good barbecue, beautiful flowers and lots of wild game.

Welcome.  Have to agree with you on the zero experience, fascinating, fun yet sometimes frustrating.  Best hobby I ever had.
Enjoy :)

RiverBee:

I am here because I am stalking you.   ;) ;)  Seriously, I am here due to PerryBee alerting me to this site.  With you an Iddee as moderators, it will be just like the old forum.

My family had a beautiful Christmas.  It has been a super day.  My fondest wish, is that everyone had a nice of a Christmas as did I.

I'm looking forward to this forum.

Lazy

Lazy has been a good description of this day.

I made it here at your bidding Lazy  :)

Folks that 800 acres is a paradise.  It smells like one anyway Lazy.  I still need to get down there and dig up a couple of those shrubs we talked about.  I'll be down to Womacks's soon, maybe I can stop the same day.  :)

Hey Lee:

Thanks for joining us.  This forum wouldn't be the same without you(for sure).  It wouldn't be as good.  We need your expertise and kind demeanor.  Thanks for coming aboard.

We can dig up the bee brush at any time.  Give me a heads up, and we can get them.
