a few issues with pecking order

The other hens would not stop picking at the base of her tail so I tried to sew my own chicken saddle. This first attempt is a little big but will work till I come up with round two.

Are they free run? I have heard that close quarters sometimes brings out that behavior.

To many people letting there dogs on the loose to free range any more. Was trying to finish build and ran to lowes for supplys cell back to neighbors dog with a bird in this mouth. Had afew birds smart enough to hide but it devastated my flock. He did right and paid for the laying ladies. So I started over again
