Business Cards
« on: January 19, 2014, 06:49:29 pm »
Do any of you have a program you would recomend for printing business cards?  I have downloaded and installed four today, Supposedly FREE only to find that if you want to "actually" print the cards yoi made they have Trial Copy run across the face of them..   Since they advertised as FREE, not just free download, but FREE to use, I'll not be buying any of those..   Thought I would see if any of yall had a recommendation before I started looking in earnest for a good software utility for making them.
   Thanks!

I used to make mine, but when you start adding up the cost of the stock, and then the colour cartridges, etc. I found it was just as easy to order them.
I have a friend in the business who cuts me a bit of a deal, nothing outrageous. I get them 1,000 at a time. I punch a hole in them and tie them to my jars with raffia. Two sided with my business stuff on the front, and weight and directions for re-liquifying on the back. I don't mess with labels as I get a lot of my jars returned and labels glued to them are a pain. I can reuse the jars but must use new lids every time.

That was the plan Perry, but shes now talked to a third person about making them for us and they dont seem to care what she wants, they prefer to make whatever is the easiest and try to sell them to her, and thats if they even get to it within the next three months.  I made what she wants with our own pictures, I just cant seem to find a way to print them without making one card per sheet. Once she has them she can probably give them a card and the pictures and get exactly what she wants.

Most word processors - LibreOffice (open source) for sure and pretty sure Word too - have business card templates that print to Avery business card stock.

First thing I do when I get a computer is delete all the stuff I have to pay for more than once.  I don't mind buying a program, but I wont pay to keep using it after I have bought it.
I will check on the LibreOffice. Thanks!!!!

I used Vista , for $10 got high gloss cards on both sides , very happy and quick turn around

Bees on one side and brewery info on back.... Best of both worlds.

Zazzle has some nice beekeeper- theme business cards, but they're a little pricy.
Can some of you folks post you cards? I'm looking for ideas. Thanks,RC

I use Vista Print for all my cards and brochures.  I've been very pleased with their quality and price.

But Avery DesignPro is a great free program to design cards, label, etc.

I'll bite, and post mine. I leave a space on the back of the card to write down the weight (in order to sell legally).
If any of you actually phone me though, it had better be to tell me you're coming up for a visit!  ;D

Pretty Nice card Perry!
I ended up buying Belltech's business card designer pro.. was 29 dollars.   Have already made the cards for the wife and printed out the leaflet that goes with her products. about 100 cards and 500 leaflets. Am pretty happy with it so far.

I wish I could take credit for the picture, but the guy (a friend) has a design company and he made them up for me.

http://www.kevinestey.ca/marketing/promotional-items   :D I just noticed he has my card on his website advertising!  :D

He has also got me a website, http://brandtsbees.com/ , but there's nothing on it yet! I haven't decided what I want to do on it.

No, I think the website will carry information on what I do, and have to offer, but not something that is ongoing.

Perhaps a game of phone roulette. We all call the number at random times ,let it ring one or two rings and see which is first to get an answered call?
  Just kidding folks, nice card!

LOL!!   I am TRYING to be nice.. Otherwise I'd have had the wife AND my 25 yr old daughter calling, asking for Perry and hanging up!!!

   "Hi, is my PerryPoo there??"
"Perrypoo? Who the H#11 is this?"
   CLICK

ooooh, and heavens forbid if HE answered the phone..    MUAAAHAHAHA  <---   Evil Daemonic laugh  Fortunately I am not that mean... while it brought a smile to my face this morning... finding an angry PERRYPOO on my doorstep with a baseball bat would not be as amusing.

Perry, I've been thinking about the wording on your card regarding honey crystallizing---IMHO, you would do well to start off and say "TOP  QUALITY honey" or "FIRST CLASS honey" crystallizes.  All too often I have heard people say that when they see honey that has crystallized they see it as a indication that it has been adulturated with added sugar.  People have to be taught that crystallizaton is a positive, not a negative sign in honey.
