Beekeeping class part II
« on: May 06, 2022, 07:36:23 pm »
Beekeeping 102 class is tomorrow.
I had to convert the slideshow to a pdf and watermark every page to appease one of our instructors who was convinced a student was going to steal it wholesale and then teach their own class  :-X

On the agenda is:
Inspections through the first 8 weeks
Hive health (Nutrition, Diseases, parasites, predators and pests)
Mite control
Smoker management

Live demonstration outside on smokers and we will have an inspection at our two teaching hives on site - possible sugar roll if time

Dearth, Flow
Normal beehavior
Swarming
Re-queening
Combining a hive
Harvesting
Wintering

Keeping of bees is like the direction of sunbeams.

Beautiful weather for the hive inspection demo - just finished lunch and back in the classroom.

Pay no attention to the laptop on the corner, I’m sure he is paying attention
